Rush Hour 2 (2001)
Rush Hour 2:
When we last left Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and Detective Carter (Chris Tucker), they were on their way to Hong Kong for much needed vacation. Rush Hour 2 picks off right where they left off and the obnoxious duo are in Hong Kong trying to have a good time. When the U.S. embassy is suddenly blown up, their vacation comes to a quick halt. Lee and Carter must now track down the culprits who also happen to be the leaders of a worldwide counterfeiting operation. Their investigation takes them through Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas before they are finally able to get the bad guys. In this sequel, the comedy is definitely funnier and the action is more spectacular than the original Rush Hour (1998) which is definitely saying a lot. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are at the top of their game and Zhang Ziyi makes a great villain as she can kick some major butt. My only minor complaint is that Zhang Ziyi never gets a fight scene with Jackie Chan which would have been quite a spectacle. Don't forget to stick around for the outtakes either... they're worth it. I anxiously await the next sequel.
