The Royal Tenenbaums:

The Royal Tenenbaums is following a recent trend and putting together an all-star cast including Gene Hackman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson just to name a few. The story follows the Tenenbaum family led by Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) who has been estranged from his family for many years. Royal has now gone broke and is now trying to make amends with his family. He tries over and over in order to get back into their good graces but nothing seems to work. The movie is genuinely funny as I found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions. The good thing is that it's not that "stupid" kind of funny but instead, it's a very "smart" kind of funny. All the characters are really very amusing. It's a nice break from bad teen comedies like Dude, Where's My Car? or Not Another Teen Movie. I found myself leaving the theater in a great mood.
