In the Bedroom:

The movie acquaints you with the Fowler family who are living very ordinary lives. Dr. Matt Fowler (Tom Wilkinson) is a family doctor with his own practice, Ruth Fowler (Sissy Spacek) is a choir teacher at the local high school, and Frank Fowler is their son who loves to fish and has aspirations of becoming an architect. Their lives are abruptly changed forever when they are forced to deal with sudden tragedy. In the Bedroom is truly heartbreaking and for a while is emotionally draining. Because the whole cast gives a magnificent performance, we can't help but put ourselves into each character's shoes and feel their pain along with them. The only drawback is that the movie seemed to run out of steam for the ending. Perhaps the filmmakers were asking just a bit too much from the audience who were already emotionally exhausted. Still... it's definitely worth the price of admission.
