In 1993 turmoil engulfed Somalia and Black Hawk Down recounts events as American forces try to take down the genocidal tyrant responsible. What appears to be a quick "get in - get out" mission ends up in disaster and the American forces' motto of "leave no man behind" gets put to the test. With yet another all-star cast, Ridley Scott gives us an intense ride all throughout the movie. The war scenes are unbelievable, putting you right in the middle of all the action and Scott does a great job of giving you the character's perspective in many of the shots. Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, and Tom Sizemore are just a few of the star performers in this movie. The movie is very exciting throughout and the 2 hours and 23 minutes goes by in a flash. Not a slow moment at all so action junkies will get their fix. This is one of the better war movies of recent times.
